Apni Chhat Mehfooz Chhat: Repair and Expand Your Existing House
Apni Chhat Mehfooz Chhat is the newest scheme of the three. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched it on July 17, 2026 in memory of the 14 children who lost their lives in the Kahna roof collapse tragedy.
This scheme is only for people who already own a house. The loan makes that house safe and bigger. You can use it for three purposes: repair a weak or dilapidated roof, build an additional room, or construct an additional storey.

Apni Chhat Apna Ghar: Build a New House on Your Own Plot
Apni Chhat Apna Ghar (ACAG) is the parent program. It started in August 2024 and targets a different problem. Many families in Punjab own a small plot but cannot afford construction. Rent eats their income while their plot stays empty.
ACAG gives these families an interest-free construction loan of up to Rs. 15 lakh. The family builds a complete new house on their own land and repays the loan in easy monthly installments of around Rs. 14,000.
Key conditions of ACAG:
- You must own a residential plot. The limit is up to 5 marla in urban areas and up to 10 marla in rural areas.

Under AZAG, eligible landless families receive a free 3-marla residential plot. That is about 675 square feet, enough for a small family home. The first phase distributed around 2,000 plots across 23 housing schemes in 19 districts of Punjab.

Apni Zameen Apna Ghar has its own separate portal, azag.punjab.gov.pk. Free plot applications only work on this portal, and only when a phase is open in your district.
